Internationalisation of higher education is one of the coveted policy goals of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC). As part of its overall focus on mutually enriching alliances with prestigious institutions abroad, IIMC has been consistently strengthening its programmes of student exchange and institutional collaborations. Through its various academic programmes, IIMC encourages a cross-cultural and comparative understanding of the emergent business issues in an integrated global context. IIMC is a proud partner of CEMS (formerly known as Community of European Management Schools and International Cooperation), a global alliance of leading business schools, multinational corporations and NGOs located in Europe and elsewhere. In fact, IIMC is the only institution of management from India to have been part of this consortium since 2012. CEMS and IIM Calcutta jointly run the Masters in International Management (MIM) programme. The CEMS MIM programme offers opportunity to students to spend a specified number of academic terms in CEMS partner institutions. Moreover, the MIM facilitates networking opportunities among peers, and strengthens corporate linkages transcending national boundaries.

One of the fastest growing economies in the world, India provides a congenial environment for multi-pronged learning for the international students. In particular, IIMC, as the oldest Indian Institutions of Management (IIMs) in the country, provides the students of MIM programme an ideal setting for cross-cultural learning.
