Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) is a premier business school in India. It was the first Indian Institute of Management to be established in the year 1961. IIM Calcutta seeks to appoint a Director who will provide strategic leadership and enhance its global recognition and ranking as a centre of excellence in all aspects of management education, research and practice, and to enhance the Institute’s ability to contribute to nation-building and the making of policy at the national level. The candidate should be a person with eminent academic credentials and proven experience in academic administration, institutional development, and alumni-relations.
The applicant shall be a distinguished academic with first class degree in both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree level and with PhD or equivalent from a reputed institute. The candidate shall have at least 15 (fifteen) years of teaching or research experience and shall have worked as a full Professor at a reputed institution for at least 7 (seven) years; or shall have industry experience at a higher level for at least 15 (fifteen) years. The candidate shall be an Indian Citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). The appointment tenure and performance review will be guided by the IIM Act 2017 & IIM (Amendment) Act, 2023 and IIM Rules 2018, IIM (Amendment) Rules, 2022 & IIM (Amendment) Rules, 2023 and IIMC Regulations as applicable. The candidate appointed as Director shall hold office for the tenure of appointment on a contract basis for a period of 5 (five) years or till he or she completes the age of 70 (seventy) years, whichever is earlier.

आवेदक स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर दोनों स्तरों पर प्रथम श्रेणी की डिग्री और किसी प्रतिष्ठित संस्थान से पी.एच.डी. या समकक्ष के साथ एक प्रतिष्ठित शिक्षाविद् होना चाहिए। उम्मीदवार के पास कम से कम 15 (पंद्रह) वर्ष का शिक्षण या अनुसंधान अनुभव होना चाहिए और कम से कम 7 (सात) वर्षों तक किसी प्रतिष्ठित संस्थान में पूर्ण प्रोफेसर के रूप में काम किया होना चाहिए; या कम से कम 15 (पंद्रह) वर्षों के लिए उच्च स्तर पर उद्योग का अनुभव होना चाहिए। उम्मीदवार एक भारतीय नागरिक या भारत का प्रवासी नागरिक (ओ.सी.आई.) होना चाहिए। नियुक्ति कार्यकाल और प्रदर्शन समीक्षा आई.आई.एम. अधिनियम 2017 और आई.आई.एम. (संशोधन) अधिनियम, 2023 और आई.आई.एम. नियम 2018, आई.आई.एम. (संशोधन) नियम, 2022 और आई.आई.एम. (संशोधन) नियम, 2023 और लागू होने वाले आई.आई.एम.सी. विनियमों द्वारा निर्देशित होगी। निदेशक के रूप में नियुक्त उम्मीदवार अनुबंध के आधार पर नियुक्ति के कार्यकाल के लिए 5 (पांच) वर्ष की अवधि या 70 (सत्तर) वर्ष की आयु पूरी होने तक, जो भी पहले हो, पद पर रहेगा।
