New Delhi: India’s largest e-commerce firm Flipkart on Wednesday said it has appointed Samardeep Subandh as its chief marketing officer. Subandh will focus on gaining customer insights, raising the level of customer centricity and driving the level of creativity and quality in all communication of the company. He will also be leading the social media communication for Flipkart.
He has over 17 years of experience in the consumer goods industry. Before joining Flipkart, Subandh was working as a chief sales officer at Marico Ltd. Before that, he spent close to 15 years with Hindustan Unilever across various marketing, sales and business assignments.
A management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, Subandh helped shape and scale up several brands such as Vim, Comfort, Close Up, Domex, Surf, Rin and Sunlight during his tenure at Hindustan Unilever.
“Samar brings with him invaluable experience from the fast moving consumer good industry and deep understanding of the Indian customer. His insights of the consumer behaviour and proven track record of building national brands will surely be a value addition as Flipkart. We are confident that he will be able to add a new and interesting perspective to our consumer,” Mukesh Bansal, head commerce platform, said Flipkart in a statement. Samar will report to Bansal.
