Thinking Social roundtable for the year 2016-17

The first "Thinking Social" roundtable for the year 2016-17 was organized under the aegis of Tata Social Enterprise Challenge (TSEC), by IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) in association with the Tata group. The theme of the roundtable was "Providing Affordable Healthcare".

The speakers for the day comprised of eminent entrepreneurs, investors, domain experts and policy makers who have rich experience in the Healthcare sector in India. The audience (a strong presence of 25 participants) comprised of industry leaders, academia, entrepreneurs and investors focused on the healthcare domain.

IIMC-SAS Workshop on Contemporary Business Analytics Practice

IIM Calcutta (IIMC) and SAS Institute India Pvt. Ltd (SAS) had jointly designed a Workshop on Contemporary Business Analytics Practice. The workshop was held at the Management Development Center (MDC) of IIMC on September 14 - 17, 2016.

The workshop sensitized participants on how companies can harness the potential of analytics to make more informed decisions and conduct various activities in radically different ways and gain competitive advantage. The workshop enabled students to diagnose business problems, conduct in-depth analysis of the external as well as the internal environment and understand how best to generate strategic business insights. The workshop also helped participants appreciate the impact of analytics and Big Data on a firm's operations and performance. A major thrust of the workshop was on blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on application using SAS software.

With 11golds IIMC reigns the first edition of Ignatia - Eastern IIM's sports fest

IGNATIA, as we know, is a celebration of sportsmanship. The spark that started in IIM Calcutta has now become the flame engulfing the entire Eastern stretch. IIM Ranchi successfully hosted the first sports meet of the eastern IIMs - 'Ignatia'. An enthusiastic participation was seen from IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore and IIM Raipur. For two days the air was heavily loaded with excitement, energy and competitiveness with each team displaying excellent athleticism and sporting abilities to claim the first trophy of Ignatia.

Independence Day Celebrations at IIMC

On Monday, August 15, 2016, the college gathered to celebrate India's 70th Independence Day. The sun shone brightly so as to shower his blessings and warmed everyone's heart with patriotism. The festivities began by hoisting the national flag and reciting the national anthem which was followed by felicitating the 20 institute rank holders, who had toiled on many such days and nights to achieve the feat.

IIM Calcutta Innovation Park is organizing a Roundtable on "Thinking Social" in Delhi on 9 September 2016, at India International Center (IIC). The theme of the round table is "Sustainable Community through Women Empowerment." The discussion would cover policies, interesting cases, implementation challenges and CSR efforts around the theme. The registration is on a first-confirmed-first-served basis and does not require any fee.
