Summer Placements at IIM Calcutta

The summer placements at IIM Calcutta are a time where the best minds in the country compete with each other to get the best for the institute. Yet it is also the time when the Joka spirit, of togetherness and not leaving anyone behind also comes to the fore. The recently concluded summer placement process at IIM Calcutta was one where there was a mad rush, a swing of emotions and short. It took a little over two days for the 458 students of the class of 2020 to secure offers and complete the process.

Vigilance Awareness Week

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), India, observes Vigilance Awareness Week in the week in which 31st October (the birthday of late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) falls, to promote probity in public life and to achieve a corruption free society.

As per the directives of MHRD, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of India, IIM Calcutta celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week with the theme "Eradicate Corruption-Build a new India" from 29th October to 3rd November 2018.

The event saw an inaugural Speech by the Director and a speech by Dean (NI & ER). This was followed by a pledge taking ceremony, affirming the commitment to eradicate corruption and upholding high standards of ethical conduct, transparency and good governance, by all attendees.

Women in Business is a student interest group created with a mission to expand career, leadership and networking opportunities for women at IIM Calcutta. The aim is to engage and celebrate women as leaders in order to make a more meaningful IIMC experience for all members.

NIDHI: Entrepreneur in residence programme (EIR) at IIM Calcutta Innovation Park

National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Government of India supporting Technology Business Incubators is mainly associated with academic and research institutions to leverage technologies and innovations for venture creation. Converting technologies and research into start-up ventures has a long product development and revenue generation time. To inspire the best talents to be entrepreneurs, minimize the risk involved in pursuing start-ups, and to partially set off their opportunity costs of high paying jobs, NSTEDB has introduced NIDHI-Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) Programme. The NIDHI EIR programme provides tremendous opportunities for innovative entrepreneurs to expand their networks and get critical feedback on their ventures in order to promote their entrepreneurial career goals and aspirations.

IIM Calcutta offers Management Development programme on ‘Applied Corporate Finance’ starting from November 19-24. The programme is meant for corporate finance managers, managers in rating agencies, executives dealing with corporate finance in consulting firms, and executives in banks and financial institutions who deal with corporate lending and advisory services.
