SC Next India Junior Campus Ambassador Selection

Operations Club - IIM Calcutta, in association with SCNext India Skill PRO, quested for Operations & Supply Chain oriented student enthusiasts who would be the competitors for the post of Campus Ambassadors for SCNext. The SCNext (ISCEA Young Supply Chain Professional Association) provides aspiring leaders in the supply chain industry a platform to explore their leadership potential, while developing the skill sets and knowledge desired by corporations. It is a member-run organization for young professionals with members spanning five continents.

Members have the opportunities to take local, regional, and global leadership positions, manage internal business ventures and projects, enhance their formal education through global certifications, events, debates, gain a global perspective on business and cultural issues and network with young professionals around the world.

After a grueling selection process, Biswajit Biswas was selected as the SCNEXT Junior Campus Ambassador, and will have the opportunity to get promoted to the ISCEA SCNext Leadership Council and work with counterparts from US, KSA, Latin America, Egypt & other MEA countries, contributing to a global forum of supply chain enthusiasts.
INCA Blood Donation Camp

INCA organized a blood donation drive in association with Lion’s Blood Bank, with the purpose of creating a repository through this initiative to help anyone in IIMC who might need blood in the future. The blood camp was monitored by the Institute doctor and a medical team. IIMC student body turned up in huge numbers for this noble cause. With the willingness and grit of the community, 100 units of blood was collected. Proper care was ensured so that the blood donors don’t feel any unease during or after the donation. Refreshments like juice, fruits etc were provided. A PGP1, Preeti told us that ‘it was the first time I ever donated blood, and it was such a gratifying experience for me, knowing the fact that this could save someone in need.’ We feel proud of the fact that IIMC students rose up to the occasion to contribute for the greater good of the society.

Pankaj Khandelwal an IIM Calcutta alumnus along with his wife Purnima Khandelwal started their first venture, a consulting firm, InI Consulting, in 2003. InI stood for Insight and Intellect and the company helped clients with their India entry strategy, agri-rural consulting and infrastructure services.

Puneet Gupta an IIM Calcutta alumnus launched Clensta, a start-up that helps people bathe without water. The idea for the waterless body bath and shampoo popped up while working closely with soldiers.

IIM Calcutta aims to bring together these differing perspectives in academia as well as practice for discussion and debate in the first International Conference on Sustainability and Business on January 13-14, 2018. The conference highlights debate on how sustainability is taking the ‘society vs. business’ perspective.

T-Sec Grand finale at IIMC Campus on 6th Jan, 2018

A joint initiative by the Tata group and the IIM-C, TSEC is a quest to find India’s most promising early-stage social enterprises. The endeavor of the challenge is to create an ecosystem for social entrepreneurship and encourage sustainable, scalable and measurable social impact. The grand finale of the programme will be held on 6th January, 2018, at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
