Independence Day Celebrations

The 72nd Independence Day of India saw the students of IIM Calcutta gathered at the Institute Auditorium to pay homage to those who fought and gave their lives for the freedom of this country. The event was graced by the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors along with the other office members, place holders and dignitaries.

Session by Accenture Strategy

Dr. Krishna Murty, Joka alumnus (36th batch) and Managing Director, Accenture Strategy (Financial Services Practice) graced the campus along with Mr. Shantanu Das, Principal, Mr. Sameer Joshi, General Manager Talent Supply Chain Lead, Mr. Manu Mohanan (52nd batch) and Mr. Yash Choudhary (53rd batch) on 18th August 2018. Dr. Krishna began the exciting and interactive session by informing the students that the meeting would be an overview of consulting and not Accenture Strategy in particular.

Celebrating Independence with Music

As the sun set on the 72nd Independence Day of the nation, celebrations in IIM Calcutta dawned a classical colour as the world renowned Sufi Qawwali singers Shri Chisti Brothers took the centre-stage. Hailing from Muradabad, UP, the brothers Waheed and Naveed Chisti had their early Qawaali lessons from their father Ustad Abdul Gafur and his brother Ustad Abdul Sharur. The duo has performed in various festivals around the world for the last 35 years and has also extensively recorded for Doordarshan and the All India Radio.

Webinar by JPMC on Non-Finance Grads in Sales & Trading

The Finance Club organized a webinar from JP Morgan & Chase on the 27th of June, a mere 10 days after the start of the classes. This was followed by a session on Non-Finance grads in Sales and Trading roles in JP Morgan & Chase on 29th of August.
