Convocation of the 54th batch; N.R. Narayana Murthy, Co-founder Infosys, graced the ceremony

IIM Calcutta celebrated its 54th Convocation at its campus on April 6, 2019. The landmark ceremony was graced by the presence of Infosys co-founder, Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy as the Chief Guest, Shri Shrikrishna Kulkarni, Chairman - IIM Calcutta’s Board of Governors and Prof. Anju Seth, Director, IIM Calcutta.

Nostalgia 2019, the annual Alumni city meet of IIM Calcutta was held in the months of April -June across 7 cities within India including Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and 6 international locations Singapore, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Dubai, London, New York.
Centrale Connect Conclave by MEC

Prof. Vidyanand Jha, faculty of Organizational Behaviour group at IIM Calcutta, advocated for the consideration of Engineering as a primary career choice at the annual Centrale Connect Conclave of Mahindra Ecole Centrale (MEC) College of Engineering. In a panel discussion on the ideals that form the basis of Indian society and whether it was time to rethink them, Prof. Jha said that the idea of success varies from person to person and that engineering should be promoted as a profession instead of a stepping stone to other professions.

Padmaja Alaganandan, an alumna of IIM Calcutta (1987-89) takes on the role of PwC India's new Chief People Officer. She has been associated with PwC for eight years and has earlier served as the leader of the firm’s People and Organisation Consulting practice and the Technology sector lead for the firm’s Advisory Line of Service.

Advanced Programme in FinTech and Financial Blockchain

IIM Calcutta in association with TalentSprint has announced an Advanced Programme in FinTech and Financial Blockchain for the benefit of management and finance professionals. This programme would help candidates appreciate the explosive growth of FinTech and its increasingly disruptive impact on the banking and financial ecosystem. This IIM Calcutta FinTech programme will be delivered in a format which will consist of "on site visits to the IIM Calcutta campus and live online sessions via the TalentSprint digital platform. Financial technology, or FinTech, is the new technology and innovation that aims to compete with traditional financial methods in the delivery of financial services. In addition, the course will prepare the candidates to exploit the immense potential of FinTech to design and drive new product strategies for their organisations. The programme will commence from May 2019.
